The smartwatch is shown with 47mm and 51mm case sizes, but which one will be available in the market is to be determined. For satellite and LTE usage, a current inReach subscription must be in place, and the availability of such a service will depend on the region and network ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌coverage.

Garmin Quatix 8 Pro comes with a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a touchscreen and a 454 x 454 pixel resolution. To keep the screen safe from scratches, the lens is made of sapphire crystal and the bezel is made of titanium. The main body of the watch is made of fiber-reinforced polymer while the rear cover is titanium. Besides a color display, the watch supports large font mode, red shift mode, and touchscreen ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌input.

Depending on regional regulations and coverage, satellite communication can work up to 50 miles ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌offshore.

The watch face in this mode can give you direct and thus very quick access to things like autopilot control, trolling motor data, or any other marine info you have connected. As soon as you turn off the boat mode, back to the main screen will come your standard set of smartwatch apps and everyday features. Additional marine features available on the watch include voice-controlled chartplotter, remote control of compatible home entertainment and lighting systems, Force trolling motors, and a depth sensor that can be used up to 40 m ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌deep.

It can check your heart rate from your wrist continuously, measure your blood oxygen levels via Pulse Ox, support ECG, track your breathing, monitor your sleep including giving you a sleep score and coaching, detect naps, keep track of your stress levels, measure your Body Battery, monitor your skin temperature, remind you to drink water, track women’s health, and help you deal with jet lag. The watch has over 100 different profiles for activities of which some are boating sports, wakesurfing, water skiing, strength training, HIIT, yoga, Pilates, cycling, running, and multisport ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌workouts.

When​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ it comes to navigation, the Garmin Quatix 8 Pro features a multi-band GPS with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou, plus SatIQ technology. Moreover, the device has a barometric altimeter, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, thermometer, ambient light sensor, and depth sensor that help in various ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌applications.

Garmin​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ says the Garmin Quatix 8 Pro can last for 15 days in smartwatch mode or eight days if the always-on display is on. When using GPS only, battery can last for 44 hours and it gets down to 8 hours when using multi-band GPS, music, and LTE LiveTrack simultaneously. The 47mm version has dimensions of 47×47×16mm and weighs 77g, or 56g for the watch case ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌only.
